Hannah Gilson

Hannah studied Fine Art, specialising in painting, at Winchester School of Art.
What inspires your work as an artist?
Music, popular culture, art history and storytelling around experiences of womanhood are the common threads found in my work.
Who are your biggest influences?
Paula Rego, Peter Blake and David Hockney
What does your work mean to you?
My work is everything! I have always used drawing as a means to express or explore thoughts and feelings. To be able to inspire others to feel a connection to a piece you have made is a very wonderful thing.
What techniques do you use?
I use a combination of drawing, digital illustration, collage and printmaking to make my work. All my large prints are hand pulled screen prints - each colour you see is a separate layer of ink.
